Achievement Level: A Distributor's rank within the Young Living Compensation Plan that determines commissions and bonuses. The 10 Achievement Levels are Distributor, Star, Senior Star, Executive, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crown Diamond, and Royal Crown Diamond.

Active Member: An Active Member (Customer or Distributor) purchases products with a minimum of 50 PV in one month, within a 12-month period.

Autoship: An order made by the 29th day of a calendar month of at least 50 PV which is automatically shipped each month with a discounted shipping cost. Shipping date and contents of an Autoship order may be changed every month, within 24 hours of the existing Autoship date. (If Autoship orders are cancelled or returned, bonuses requiring Autoship will be cancelled or retracted.) Autoship orders must be purchased with the buyer's payment method and delivered to the buyer's address.

Commissionable Products: Products on which commissions are paid. (Non-commissionable products include such items as business aids and accessories.)

Customer: A Member who purchases products at the retail price, which is 24% above the wholesale price, and does not participate in the Young Living business opportunity. Customers are placed on the sponsor's level, and contribute to the sponsor's PV. Customers do not occupy a place in the downline organization apart from their sponsor's place.

Customer Earnings: A commission of 24% of sales volume generated by Customers to their sponsors.

Diamond Express Profit Sharing Bonus: One of four Pool Share Bonuses, this one equals .5% of YLEO's total Bonus Pool (a percentage of commissionable sales in a given month) and is divided amongst eligible Diamond (1 share), Crown Diamond (2 shares), and Royal Crown Diamond Distributors (3 shares) based on meeting requirements of domestic and international meetings led, and number of Young Living-sponsored events attended that month.

Distributor: A Member of Young Living who purchases a Starter Kit (upon enrolling as a Distributor) and participates in the Young Living business opportunity as detailed in the company's Compensation Plan. Distributors earn commissions and bonuses on sales in their downline organization according to their Achievement Level (also referred to as their Rank).

Downline Organization: The total number of Members (Distributors and Customers) enrolled under you, beginning with your first level and continuing to infinite levels.

Dynamic Compression: An order of 50 PV is considered a "qualifying" order, meaning that it qualifies to be counted as a level in the downline organization on which a Distributor gets paid. Where a Distributor in your downline organization has less than 50 PV in a given month, that person's PV compresses up to the level above it, and further downline volume compresses up until a "qualifying" order of 50 PV fills the original spot. You are paid commmissions on all the compressed volume.

Enroller: A Distributor who enrolls a new Member in Young Living.

Essential Reward Points: A "loyalty program" awarding points to Members who maintain an Autoship order over consecutive months. The basic Essential Rewards program applies to Autoship orders of 50-99 PV and includes the automatic order and first-priority, discounted shipping benefit. The Essential Rewards Plus program applies to Autoship orders of 100 PV and above; this includes the benefits of the automatic order and discounted shipping along with the benefit of earning Reward Points that may be used to get free products, and finally, a grace period of one month per 12 rolling months. Each point equals a dollar of free PV that the Member may redeem for products, and while there is no limit to how many points may be earned per month, only 350 Essential Rewards point may be redeemed per month. Points roll over from month to month and expire on a rolling 12 month basis or if Autoship is discontinued. Click here for more details.

Fast Start Bonus: A Bonus paid in addition to all other commissions and bonuses. This Bonus has two parts and a change in the first level Unilevel commission payout (just while the Bonus is being paid). The two parts of the Bonus are: 1) You earn a 25% Bonus on your newly enrolled Distributor's PV for their first three months (with a maximum payout of $200 per month for that Distributor), and 2) Should that new Distributor enroll a new Distributor, you earn a 10% Bonus on the PV of that new Member's PV for their first three months (with a maximum payout of $200 per month for that Member).

The Unilevel commission payout change: During the time you are receiving this Bonus on any given new Member, your Unilevel commission on that new person's PV will be calculated at a rate reduced by 70%. In other words, if the person you enroll is on your first level, where the Unilevel commission is 8%, your bonus would be paid on only 30% of the person's PV, (thus, about 2.49% v. the usual 8%). (Doing the math, with a 25% bonus on 100% of the new member's PV plus 2.49% of that same PV, you get a total of 27.49% versus the 8% otherwise gained through commissions only.) This change in no way effects how your OGV or PGV is calculated. It effects only how your commission is calculated on a new Member for whom you are also receiving the Fast Start Bonus.

Generation: A generation consists of all Members in one leg of a downline organization between two Silver (or higher rank) Distributors. The generation begins with a Silver and extends down to, but does not include the next Silver or above. The next generation begins with the next Silver Distributor in that same leg in the downline organization. Generations are not limited by levels and may extend virtually to infinite levels of depth in a leg where no other Silver Distributors appear in the downline organization.

Generation Bonus: A Bonus paid in addition to all other commissions and bonuses to Distributors who have achieved the rank of Silver or above. When you become a Silver, you are qualified to receive this Bonus on three generations: the first pays 2.5%, the next two pay 3%. Each successively higher rank adds another generation on which you are paid: Gold = four, Platinum = five, Diamond = six, Crown Diamond = seven, and Royal Crown Diamond = eight. Generations two through seven are paid at 3%. Generation eight is 1%. If no Silver (or higher) appears in a leg, the bonus is paid on the entire leg as far as it goes.

Generation Leadership Bonus: One of four Share Pool Bonuses, this Bonus is equal to 6.25% of the month's Share Pool, and is paid out in shares according to your paid-as rank for the month and on the leaders in your organization on which you earn Generation Bonus commissions. Leg: A "leg" begins with a Distributor on your first level and includes all the Members (Distributors and Customers) who are enrolled underneath that person.

Leg X OGV: The number of legs and the amount of monthly OGV required for each leg. For example, the Leg X OGV requirement to be paid as an Executive is 2 x 1,000 meaning two legs with 1,000 OGV each.

Level: When a new person is enrolled in Young Living, he or she is sponsored under a Distributor and is considered "First Level" to that Distributor. Someone placed under that person would be the original Distributor's Second Level, and so on.

Member: A Distributor or Customer who buys directly from Young Living Essential Oils.

Month End: Month End is the cutoff date for processing online, phone, fax, and postal orders. The cutoff is midnight Mountain Time on the last calendar day of the month. To be included in commissions for a month, mailed-in orders must be received by the last business day of that month.

Organization Group Volume (OGV): The monthly volume of your entire organization, including PV, Customers and Distributors.

Personal Group Volume (PGV): For Silver or higher ranks in the compensation plan, Personal Group Volume is determined by the sales volume of the organization directly supported by the distributor. PGV accumulates throughout each commission period. This is the sum of PV from the distributor down to, but not including, the next Silver or higher rank for each leg of the sales organization. PGV in these cases does not include any Silver or higher rank and the entirety of volume in their organization. PGV also does not include any volume from qualifying legs used for rank qualification in a commission period.

Personal Volume (PV): The monthly volume of your personal orders, including orders placed by your Customers.

Premium Starter Kits: These kits include the following Premium Starter Kits from the linked list labeled "premium".

Rank: An achievement level of sales and leg development qualifying a Distributor to earn a range of commissions and bonuses according to the compensation plan. There are 10 Ranks.

Rising Star Team Bonus: One of the four Share Pool Bonuses, this one equals 1% of the total monthly Share Pool and shares are determined by dividing it among that month's qualifying Distributors. It is available to Star, Sr. Star, and Executive level Distributors who maintain 100PV Essential Rewards (ER) autoship orders, and who build at least 3 legs each with 100PV ER and 300 OGV for one share; who maintain those three legs plus build 2 more legs with 100PV ER and 500OGV for 2 additional shares; and who build those first 5 legs as mentioned as well as 2 more legs each with 100PV ER and 1000 OGV for 3 more shares. Thus, a total of 6 shares are possible for the Rising Star Team Bonus, pictured here.

Share Pool Bonus: YLEO assigns a percentage of its total monthly commissionable sales to a Share Pool, divided into three Share Pool Bonuses, each of which receives a percentage of the total Pool: the Rising Star Bonus (1%), the Generation Leadership Bonus (6.25%), and the Diamond Express Profit Sharing Pool (.5%). Shares of a given Bonus are determined by different criteria. See the Compensation Plan Diagram for details or the descriptions of each in this list.

Sponsor: The Distributor under whom a new Member is placed. Unless specified otherwise, the Enroller is also the Sponsor.

Start Living Enrollment Kit Bonus: A bonus of $25 paid to you every time you enroll a new Distributor with a premium Start Living Kit. For example, if you sign up six new Distributors who each purchase a premium Start Living Kit, you earn $150.

Unilevel: The Unilevel part of the compensation plan covers the first 5 levels of your downline organization. Commissions are paid as a percentage of the purchases of all the Members in those levels, and the number of levels on which you get paid is determined by your Achievement Level. Unilevel commissions are paid to Distributors at the rank of Star and above. First level payout is 8%, second is 5%, and third through fifth is 4%. Wholesale Price: The price paid for products by Distributors -- 24% below the retail price paid by Customers.
